Yoga Nidra - Psychic Sleep

After many years of living, learning and teaching in yoga ashrams and Buddhist centres in the UK, Greece, and India, Peter returned to New Zealand where he now lives, practices and teaches yoga and meditation.  Trained in the Bihar School of Yoga tradition and many years at Mandala Yoga Ashram gives Peter a broad and practical knowledge of yoga and its application in daily life.

During the past 9 years he has also spent part of the year touring Europe, at the invitation of other teachers and yoga centres, co-teaching programmes that are suitable for anyone with an interest in yoga and meditation. Peter is known for his ability to create a relaxed and friendly atmosphere where students can learn and develop personal practices that can significantly improve their own sense of well-being. His clear and direct style, delivered with gentle humour and related anecdotes, make his programmes a genuinely unique experience – enjoyable, stimulating, highly informative and personally beneficial.

In this workshop Peter and Alison will guide you through the systematic principles of Yoga Nidra practice, the development of your Sankalpa (resolve) and  as well as guiding you through two full length Yoga Nidra practices.

Yoga Nidra is a technique developed from the ancient Yogic technique of nyasa that allows us to relax consciously.  It systematically induces complete physical, mental and emotional relaxation.  No previous experience is required for this special workshop, so if you would like to RELAX and DE-STRESS just come along with a sleeping bag.

Yoga Nidra has been proven to promote physical, mental and emotional relaxation; it reduces stress, energises the body and promotes wellbeing and healing.  It has also been found effective in the treatment of chronic pain.

“People who are really good at what they do make it look easy. Teachers, probably above all, are no exception. The best teachers teach from example and above all they teach from the heart.

Peter travels light and carries the essentials, most of which don’t show up on the scales. A profound knowledge of yoga and the ability to transmit his understanding............. based on his own practice of meditation, which he has learned from his teachers and made his own."
