The ancient yogis knew a thing or two about meditation.  The principles are easy after all “chitta vritti nirodhaha” (to still the fluctuations of the mind) is a pretty straight forward concept right up until you try to do it!   What can we do in order to make our meditation time more rewarding and successful? In this three hour workshop Peter and Alison will introduce various techniques that aid meditation as well as guiding you through three forms of meditation. Giving you the tools and knowledge to continue with your own practice.

About Peter:  After many years of living, learning and teaching in yoga ashrams and Buddhist centres in the UK, Greece, and India, Peter returned to New Zealand where he now lives, practices and teaches yoga and meditation.  Trained in the Bihar School of Yoga tradition and many years at Mandala Yoga Ashram gives Peter a broad and practical knowledge of yoga and its application in daily life.

During the past 9 years he has also spent part of the year touring Europe, at the invitation of other teachers and yoga centres, co-teaching programmes that are suitable for anyone with an interest in yoga and meditation. Peter is known for his ability to create a relaxed and friendly atmosphere where students can learn and develop personal practices that can significantly improve their own sense of well-being. His clear and direct style, delivered with gentle humour and related anecdotes, make his programmes a genuinely unique experience – enjoyable, stimulating, highly informative and personally beneficial.

“People who are really good at what they do make it look easy. Teachers, probably above all, are no exception. The best teachers teach from example and above all they teach from the heart.
Peter travels light and carries the essentials, most of which don’t show up on the scales. A profound knowledge of yoga and the ability to transmit his understanding............. based on his own practice of meditation, which he has learned from his teachers and made his own."
