Yoga is not just about attending a weekly class, yoga is a way of life so just as everyday life goes on all the time, so does yoga.  In the beginning we need to cultivate this - firstly by remembering “yoga” and doing some practice at the time we remember - eventually yoga (awareness and the free flow of energy) starts to happen spontaneously.

The day starts the moment we wake - at that moment we can do many yogic things to affect the day, as we move into the day there are useful formal practices that will benefit us for example, practicing a yoga nidra at the end of the working day, and informal practices such as walking in a meditative way - so Yoga in Everyday Life will take us through the day presenting various options for you to practice.

At the end of this three hour workshop you will have a capsule program of practices, amounting to an hours practice but spread throughout the day which will put yoga formally and firmly into your day.

  • Awareness cultivation practices
  • Practices upon waking – ditch the snooze!!
  • Going to the mat for hatha, pranayama and meditation.
  • Yoga nidra at the end of the working day.
  • Night time practices before sleep.
  • Prasad (Sacred Food) – making meal times special.

Places are limited to 4 students per session allowing plenty of opportunity for the development of a personalized practice, adapted for each individual by two highly experienced teachers.

About Peter:  After many years of living, learning and teaching in yoga ashrams and Buddhist centres in the UK, Greece, and India, Peter returned to New Zealand where he now lives, practices and teaches yoga and meditation.  Trained in the Bihar School of Yoga tradition and many years at Mandala Yoga Ashram gives Peter a broad and practical knowledge of yoga and its application in daily life.

During the past 9 years he has also spent part of the year touring Europe, at the invitation of other teachers and yoga centres, co-teaching programmes that are suitable for anyone with an interest in yoga and meditation. Peter is known for his ability to create a relaxed and friendly atmosphere where students can learn and develop personal practices that can significantly improve their own sense of well-being. His clear and direct style, delivered with gentle humour and related anecdotes, make his programmes a genuinely unique experience – enjoyable, stimulating, highly informative and personally beneficial.

“People who are really good at what they do make it look easy. Teachers, probably above all, are no exception. The best teachers teach from example and above all they teach from the heart.
Peter travels light and carries the essentials, most of which don’t show up on the scales. A profound knowledge of yoga and the ability to transmit his understanding............. based on his own practice of meditation, which he has learned from his teachers and made his own."
