This event is also highly suitable for carers, occupational therapists or other professionals working in this area. This one day workshop provides you with a day of training as a parent, carer or professional in the most up to date methods and techniques that are known to make a difference and that you can use yourself with your child or children that you work with. Lisa is a world recognised leader in NLP Psychotherapy. Now a Master Trainer of NLP, Lisa is accredited by the UKCP as a neurolinguistic psychotherapist and has an MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice focusing on the applied psychology of NLP. Lisa is currently studying towards a PhD in Psychology at Surrey University. As a psychotherapist, Lisa has served as both Chair and Vice Chair of the UKCP, working closely with the Government on the statutory regulation of psychology, psychotherapy and counselling and has long been a proponent of the effectiveness of brief therapy. Lisa has actively campaigned for rigour of standards, ethics, and research in psychotherapy and has contributed to the neurolinguistic psychotherapy field with the publication of her groundbreaking book for the Advancing Theory in Therapy series for Routledge, Neurolinguistic Psychotherapy: A Postmodern Perspective. Lisa’s subsequent publication for the UKCP series with Karnac, The Role of Brief Therapy in Attachment Disorders has attracted the support and contribution of Betty Alice Erickson, family therapist and daughter of Dr Milton H Erickson, renowned Psychiatrist and Hypnotherapist. Lisa is advisor to Association of NLP and was also on the steering committee of the first International NLP research conference at Surrey University. Renowned for her track record of ethics, training and standards in NLP, Lisa is one of the few academically published researchers and writers within the field of NLP. Lisa’s recent groundbreaking publication on the applied psychology of NLP is currently being utilised by the US Military to inform the development of a programme for the US Veterans Association. About Bridin McKenna Bridin has a broad base work background that has equipped her with a vast resource of experiences that are invaluable to her as a therapist, enabling greater understanding and effective progress in client’s therapy. After qualifying as a psychotherapist Bridin has further trained at The National Centre for Eating Disorders and Obesity in London and is an affiliate member of their professional network, holding specialist qualifications for working with anorexia, bulimia, binge eating disorder, obesity, eating disorders and associated mental health conditions. Bridin has recently launched Northern Ireland’s first clinic treating obesity and eating disorders using evidence based psychological treatment models. She has a particular interest in the area of autism/aspergers/adhd/dyslexia following a number of immediate family members being diagnosed, and has worked with many clients/parents who have had children diagnosed on the spectrum. Life Therapies Clinic also offers nutritional support and advice for improvement and management of autistic symptoms. Bridin is an Associate Trainer for BEAT Eating Disorder Charity and delivers Eating Disorder Training to professionals and organisations throughout Northern Ireland. She is an AMT approved Trainer and Facilitator of Emotional Freedom Techniques and delivers workshops on a broad range of issues demonstrating use of these adaptive techniques. Bridin is a UKCP accredited Psychotherapist and Eating Disorder Clinician who brings a wealth of clinical experience to her training room.
