60A Bloomfield Avenue, Belfast, BT5 5AD
I work from a modern clinic on Bloomfield Avenue, with easy parking and on a major bus route.
I deliver a wide range of therapies to suit each individual and often incorporate several therapies into one treatment for maximum benefit to the client. Reflexology, Swedish Massage, Deep Tissue Massage, Pregnancy Massage, Acupressure Massage, Indian Head Massage, Thai seated massage, Hot Stone Therapy, Hopi Ear Candling, Reiki.
I use Neal’s Yard Organic products to make the experience even more special. I have hundreds of happy loyal clients who return regularly to keep stress and strains under control.
Swedish Massage
Gentle manipulation of the soft body tissue with the use of quality oils, helping to improve skin and muscle tone, rid the body of waste products and improve the circulation. This popular treatment is particularly effective at relieving muscle tension, inducing deep relaxation and so, aiding restful sleep. The techniques used can be adapted to deliver a more stimulating massage as required.
Acupressure Therapeutic Massage
Acupressure is part of Chinese medicine and is based on the same principle as Acupunture but without the use of needles. The same pressure points are stimulated along the meridians of the body to dispel energy blockages to allow the body to heal itself and return to optimum condition.
A very detailed consultation to determine a suitable treatment plan to encompass Acupressure, Passive Movements, Neuro Muscular work and Polarity to balance the energies of the body, to mobilise the tissues and encourage mobility in the joints. Deep breathing techniques are demonstrated and all aspects of health, nutrition, activity and lifestyle are discussed, looking at prevention and not just cure. The aim is to treat the body as a whole. The techniques used not only initiate a self-healing process but can bring about profound relaxation of body, mind and spirit.
Allow up to 90 mins for first treatment to include initial consultation.
Indian Head Massage
This ancient Indian practice concentrates on the pressure points of the shoulders, arms, neck, scalp and face, relieving headaches, eyestrain, muscle tension, promoting greater creativity, clarity of thought and concentration as a result of improved blood flow to the brain with the added benefit of healthy, shiny hair.
Hot Stone Massage
Hot Stone massage involves the application of water-heated basalt stones of varying sizes to key points on the body, giving a deep massage and creating sensations of comfort and warmth. The direct heat relaxes muscles, allowing manipulation of a greater intensity.
This therapy can help in the treatment of; muscular aches, pains and strains; rheumatic and arthritic conditions, MS, Fibromyalgia,(it is advised to consult your GP prior to treatment) back pain and insomnia. It also helps to improve circulation and can help reduce stress, anxiety, tension and depression.
Work Place Massage
This routine has been specifically designed to cause minimal disruption to the working day, as you remain fully clothed and no oils are used.
Relax... ease the physical strain and revive that tired mind by sinking into our ergonomically designed massage chair...
...forget the world for 20 minutes and be pressed, stretched and kneaded in all the right ways on your back, neck, arms and shoulders.
Pregnancy Massage
Soothing Swedish Massage suitable for pregnant ladies from the second trimester onwards.
Receiving regular massage during pregnancy can help with the ability to relax during the first stage of labour often resulting in shorter, easier births, less pain and a lower rate of postnatal complications. Further more, it can lead to increased breast feeding success due to increased prolactin.
The Japanese word Reiki translates as ‘universal life force’.
It is the energy present in all living things. In a healthy person, this Life Energy flows freely but in a person who is ill, the energy is out of balance or there is said to be a stagnation. This stagnation can manifest into physical, emotional and mental problems. Reiki helps to restore and re balance the energy flow thus enabling the body to heal itself.
A Reiki treatment combines the utilisation of the Life force with the warmth, reassurance and the healing power of human touch.
Hypnotherapy is a safe and efficient tool for reaching and dealing with problems of the mind and body. During hypnosis, a state of deep relaxation and calm is achieved. The individual, however, remains aware of their surroundings and totally in control. Hypnotic experience is to be enjoyed and embraced rather than feared as it is a powerful means of making long lasting positive change in one’s life.
Big Impact Areas:
Smoking Cessation
Weight Control
Anxiety and Stress whether for a ‘one-off’ situation or for a more persistent and possibly deep-rooted problem.
Other common problems which respond well to hypnotherapy:
Insomnia, Nail Biting, Enuresis (bed-wetting), Phobias, Exam nerves, Self esteem issues, Personal Motivation, Mild depression, Emotional problems.
The number of sessions will be determined and agreed through consultation. Sessions last approx one hour, although, in common with all good therapists, I do not work to the clock; treatment is tailored to your personal requirements.
95% of the population can be hypnotised and while hypnosis is a safe and effective treatment, it is not recommended for people with conditions such as epilepsy, schizophrenia, clinical depression or those under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
Using light pressure to massage each of the points in your toes, feet and ankles will release tension, remove energy blockages, disperse accumulations of calcium and uric acid, stimulate blood circulation and promote healing of both body and mind.
Gentle pressure is applied to each pressure point and, where there are corresponding physical problems, the client may experience some slight discomfort and/or the therapist may feel some blockages in the area. For example, when the practitioner touches the reflex point that corresponds to the gall bladder, if the client has a problem with that organ, then some discomfort may be felt in the foot.
Reflexology can be used to work with a wide range of disorders including skin and respiratory conditions, migraine, PMS and menopausal problems, fertility problems, digestive, IBS, chronic fatigue, stress, depression and anxiety and insomnia.
Generally, most clients report that a reflexology treatment is wonderfully relaxing and soothing, and many people fall asleep. Each session will last about an hour and, in most cases, a series of 5 sessions are necessary to resolve any problems. Some clients book a regular weekly or monthly session as a preventative measure, to keep their systems balanced and in good working order.
This holistic method is used to relieve, primarily, conditions of the ear, nose and throat such as sinusitis, wax blockage, glue ear, hay-fever, dust allergy, tension headache, congestion build-up after a cold, neuralgia, tinnitus and barotraumas suffered by frequent flyers and divers.
The treatment includes a mini facial massage to activate pressure points to initiate the healing process.
A wonderful feeling of physical and mental regeneration with a seated Thai massage, then float off into a truly deep state of meditative relaxation with Reiki healing.
This restful experience will leave you feeling refreshed and motivated.
