Welcome to Comber Osteopathy

We are a highly skilled team of osteopaths based in Comber, Co Down, Northern Ireland. Established in 2003 we are a multi-practitioner clinic with a wide skillset  specialising in back and neck pain, joint pain, paediatrics, cranial osteopathy and sports medicine enabling us to treat an extensive range of conditions. We are the only clinic in Northern Ireland to have post graduate training from The Osteopathic Centre for Children in London.

Sports Injuries

Osteopaths are specifically trained in musculoskeletal medicine.

We would assess the local area of injury but also do a thorough whole body assessment looking at how we can treat the specific injury but also improve the mechanics of your whole body therefore optimizing its flexibility and strength. This would include a tailored exercise programme.

Babies and Children

Osteopathy is a gentle treatment suitable for babies and children at all stages of development.

Babies’ skeletons are softer than an adult’s and osteopaths will therefore use gentle techniques such as cranial osteopathy when treating babies.

Gentle osteopathic treatment can help soothe and relax your baby.

Our osteopaths are experienced paediatric osteopaths and hold specialist post graduate qualifications in paediatric osteopathy which has included working in an NHS premature baby unit and specialist paediatric clinic.

Babies can be treated from newborn.

Pregnancy

Pregnancy is a wonderful and unique experience and our bodies have an amazing ability to adapt to the changes and demands of pregnancy. Those changes include the softening of ligaments, weight increase and changes to posture.

This can lead to additional pressure on joints in various parts of the body including the spine and pelvis.

Osteopathy can help with the general aches and pains including joint and back pain that can result from the normal physiological changes of pregnancy.

Cranial Osteopathy

Cranial osteopathy is a refined and subtle type of osteopathic treatment that uses very gentle pressure to encourage the release of stresses within the head and throughout the body.

Cranial techniques are safe, gentle and non-manipulative and are often used when treating pregnant women young children and new born infants.
