Rhythm2Recovery returns to Maitri Studio for 2 days training

Rhythm2Recovery training - award winning, evidence based, social & emotional learning program using music

The Rhythm2Recovery program connects, educates and uplifts participants in a transformational way.

Joe Loughlin, Belfast based drum circle facilitator of almost 20 years brings his The Gathering Drum back to Maitri Studio with a two day course, that provides attendees with the practical tools and skills to introduce music into their practice in order to address the social and emotional challenges faced by their clients or student.

Aimed at school teachers, classroom assistants, counsellors, youth workers and therapists this training uses the healing power of rhythm and music to connect, educate and uplift participants in a transformational way. The R2R model is used by counsellors and educators around the world working in diverse fields including trauma, mental health, behavioural education, custodial facilities, child protection and refugee integration.

Access to over 200 practical rhythm games and exercises plus exclusive training videos. Suitable for both counselling and educational settings and can be adapted for individual, family and larger group work.

Here's what Joe says:

This is an evidence-based model of psycho-social education that has been hugely successful in engaging young people, especially those who are reluctant to engage in traditional interventions and assist them with social and emotional learning, and reductions in social anxiety and social isolation.

It is fun, safe and accessible to young people of all ages, abilities and backgrounds.

No musical experience is required to do this course. We all intuitively know the power of music and its importance to young people emotionally, yet there are few evidence-based programmes available to educators or therapists to incorporate music in their work – this is one that is highly practical and accessible.
