… I was a chef and for 14 years and worked for various top restaurants managing busy kitchens and teams of chefs . As everyone knows a chefs job has a lot of pressure and is very stressful. In 2001 I suffered back pain I went down the medical route but could not be fixed . Luckily another chef recommended a therapist ( Orla Brady) who used kinesiology which sorted my back out in just one session. I didn’t think much about it as her treatment was so gentle.
I continued Cheffing and moved to belfast . In 2004 I developed a frozen shoulder and I attended my GP but I could not get relief. I then went private for various treatments acupuncture, Chiropractor, Physio and sports massage over two months with no success.
I decided to find the therapist who sorted my back. I had a treatment for my shoulder and this time one session was all that was needed for relief. This was a light bulb moment for me I wanted to know how did it work and Why . I then went on to study this fantastic advanced Complimentary therapy.
I found a huge difference in my mood for work and was so calm and relaxed I felt I was a different person who could cope much better with the demanding work load.
In 2007 I became a professional Kinesiologist. I gave up my full time career cooking and went on to set up a very successful Kinesiology clinic looking after the young and old with all types of ailments. I love working in clinic each case is so unique to that person and its heart warming to hear the good results. I have since completed many Advanced Kinesiology courses with Hugo Tobar in Ireland and Austria. And I continue to further my studies.
Horses have always been in my life and I now managed to tie this in with my work. While studying the kinesiology I found it was amazing and worked really well on animals I treated . I then met an instructor who had used it on his Race Horses.I went on to Study Various Equine courses, Nutrition, Anatomy & Physiology, Massage, and I attended the synopsis with Dr Kerry Ridgeway and Manalo Mendez in the UK 2014.
I had not worked on cattle until one day when I got a call to treat a cow who had been down for three weeks – I did one Kinesiology session and the cow got up. My practice includes all animals and offers a mobile service.
In the last 5 years I have worked with numerous Top Irish horses and Riders from all spheres including Racing, Show jumping and Eventing. Pony and Junior riders who competed for Ireland. And many family pets.
